Some evenings are good. Some evenings are great. And then there are evenings where you’re surrounded by a “happy” of Golden Retrievers as the sun sets over the Green Mountains — while a Barcelona-based fusion quintet plays live music under the Vermont sky — and your ticket directly benefits one of the most important canine health studies ever undertaken.

August 1st is that evening.

Golden Dog Farm and Butternut Goldens are proud to host a very special night — one part World-Famous Golden Retriever Experience®, one part benefit concert, and one hundred percent unforgettable. Golden Dog Farm and the Butternut Goldens are donating their proceeds from every ticket sold directly to the Morris Animal Foundation and their Lifetime Golden Retriever Study, the most comprehensive canine cancer research effort in history.

The evening kicks off with the Golden Retriever Experience® you know and love: playtime, cuddles, photos, and pure joy in the company of the Butternut Goldens. Unlike our regular sessions, we are not capping attendance tonight. Our goal is simple: the more people who join us, the more we can give.

The Benefit Concert  |  Varroomba!  |  Music Begins at 8:30 PM

After the Golden Experience wraps around 7:30 PM, the stage will come alive with Varroomba! — and if you’ve never heard them before, get ready for something genuinely transporting.

Sam Lardner is a native New Englander who made his way to Barcelona in the late ’90s and spent the better part of two decades crafting one of the most distinctive musical fusions you’ll ever hear: a careful, joyful blend of Americana and Flamenco that Catalan music critic Pau Llorens once described as what happens when “James Taylor and the Gypsy Kings have a fenderbender, and they all make friends.” Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary called them “the real deal” - adding that if there was ever a chance to visit the excitement and dynamism of Spain without boarding an airplane, this is it.

Over the years, the Barcelona band’s alumni have gone on to remarkable things — including multiple Latin Grammy wins for Flamenco Album of the Year. Varroomba! is specifically dedicating their summer touring to benefit concerts for organizations doing meaningful work. They're not just musicians, they're creating a movement to support worthy causes! We are honored that the Morris Animal Foundation’s Lifetime Golden Retriever Study is part of their 2026 tour.

All of this set against an uninterrupted backdrop of the Green Mountains as the Vermont stars come out. It’s a pretty perfect evening.

Our neighbors at Two Sons Bakehouse — one of Vermont’s most beloved local bakeries and caterers will be on-site with pizzas, burgers, and more from their catering menu, available for purchase throughout the evening. Golden Dog Farm will also have your favorite drinks for sale. Come hungry. Stay late.
